9/19/2013 – VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — An operational test launch of an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile is scheduled for Sunday between 3:01 and 9:01 a.m. from Launch Facility-10 here on north Vandenberg.

Col. Keith Balts, 30th Space Wing commander, is the launch decision authority.

“2013 has proved to be a busy year for the Western Range,” said Balts. “Whether we are supporting a mid-morning launch of a Delta-IV or an early morning Minuteman III launch, public safety is always our number one priority.”

For more information about the flight test, call Air Force Global Strike Command Public Affairs at (318) 456-1305 or after hours at (318) 456-2151.
