I beg to differ with you. We are not “media grabbers.” We are being faithful to our Christian faith, the call to be human, which calls us to first and foremost to love God and all human beings, as every person is made in God’s image and likeness. This leads one to reject the idolatrous and blasphemous ways of empire; to reject and stand against all that glorifies death, all that serves the purpose of death and destruction. God calls us to “choose life.”

You are correct. Our opinion and our protests (by ourselves) have little, if any, effect on government policy. However, first and foremost, as stated above, our intent is to be faithful to Gospel principles, not necessarily successful in changing anything, though this certainly is the ultimate goal. The goal of disarmament, which is to place our trust in God alone, as our national motto (falsely) states, will come when our nation collapses under economic ruin because we spend nearly all our resources on the ways of death and destruction, while the needs of the people and the nation’s infrastructure are neglected. It is utterly impossible for this nation to continue spending trillions on wars and expect to meet the needs of the people. Every empire in human history tried it before us and collapsed. When we fall, then the people will come together and join us and demand that the money used for weapons, wars, death and destruction, now be used for the purpose of life.

Protesting and resistance is the human thing to do in the midst of the inhuman, and anti-human diabolical madness of war and preparation for war.

I think it’s sad that protesters feel the need to take away valuable resources from the base when we are fighting a much greater enemy.

Please join me at the front gate 11:55 pm on November 17 to protest the ICBM launch. I am asking protesters to provide ID so we can clarify the legal issues and contest the base policy of lifetime ban and bar practice. This practice has NEVER been reviewed by a civilian court . Of course people can do whatever they wish but this is a request for this protest only. Who else is planning to be there?
